2020 BRMHS Graduation Plan * June 2, 2020 6 p.m. * BRMHS Soccer Field
Congratulations Seniors! After researching and making requests for other venues in BR along with LSU cancelling our Commencement, we only have one option that is viable and approved. The BRMHS 2020 Commencement Exercises will be held on the Bulldog Soccer Field on June 2 at 6 p.m.
Due to Fire Marshal regulations, the bleacher seating of the soccer stadium will not accommodate more than 200 people; therefore, no one will be allowed to sit in the stadium bleachers. All graduates will be seated alphabetically on the soccer field with two family members as their guests. Please complete the following google form by May 22 with the two names of family members that will be joining you on the field, https://forms.gle/jEp8MhaHLT4wBiwn7. The ceremony will be recorded by a professional company for all others to view. Please fill out the google form, https://forms.gle/8C43pc52f7LrfExn9, if you DO NOT wish to participate in the Graduation Ceremony so that your diploma, cords, and certificates along with a partial refund for graduation can be mailed to you. We must receive this information by May 22.
Graduation Procedures: All students and family members will be seated alphabetically on the field while wearing masks. Commemorative student masks will be provided. All students must have the Josten’s graduation gown, stole, and cap with a tassel to participate. Call Josten’s at 225-928-5502 to pick up your graduation supplies. Please bring your diploma cover if you wish to include it in your picture. Students will need to wear low heels as the grass on the field may be uneven. No flip-flops or tennis shoes will be allowed.
The processional music will begin and one gate at the front of the stadium will open at 5:15 p.m. Graduates and two family members will enter the stadium and find their seats. Seating will honor social distancing with 6 feet between each group of three chairs. Chairs may not be moved. High Honor Scholar Awards and a 3 x 5 Card with the graduate’s name will be in a folder on his/her chair. Honor cords that were not previously picked up on Friday, May 22 will be placed on the graduate’s chair. Balloons and large banners may not be brought into the stadium due to the possible blocking of the views of other families.
Parking is limited. Please plan for each family to arrive in one car and park in the school parking lot and/or Boudreaux’s. The graduation will begin at 6 p.m. SHARP. We will have a shortened graduation program. After the graduate hands the 3 X 5 Card to the school representative at the stage, the graduate’s name will be called, he/she will walk across the stage and will have his/her picture taken by Musemeche Photography. After exiting the stage, the graduate and family members will then exit the stadium to their transportation. No students or family members will be allowed to remain.
